Mensen zijn dol op PosterMyWall
The internet may be king, but The Dragonfly Lounge built its crowd on paper. Timothy Jacobs opened the esports and hookah lounge in Kennesaw, Georgia in 2020, aiming it at young adults and college students with a modern, club-like feel. His mother, Michelle Proffit, runs the marketing, bringing the eye she sharpened catering with Chellz Cuisine. Asked for her number one tactic, she does not hesitate: flyers. Social media is fine once you have a following, she reckons, but when you are starting from nothing, a flyer at someone's door gets read.
Her flyers follow rules she worked out herself. The backdrop is always the lounge, never people, so anyone reading it knows exactly what they are walking into: the stage with its curtains drawn for open mic night, a hookah set up on a centre table for a quiet one. Every flyer answers the obvious questions, dates, times, prices, and the fact that parking is free, which she has found is a genuine draw. The Dragonfly's grey and purple appear on every single design, because seeing the same colours often enough trains people to think of the brand. She prints on thick, postcard-quality stock, since a thin flyer gets binned and a solid one gets kept.
You can work the same way. Start from flyer templates, drop in your event details, and export a sharp file the print shop can run. When the design has done its work on paper, Resize turns it into a social post without rebuilding it, which is exactly how Michelle gets her flyers onto Facebook and Eventbrite. Keep your colours locked in Brand Kits so one idea covers the whole calendar, on the wall and online.
